We are happy to provide tax awareness and pre-retirement courses training courses for a wide range of audiences on demand. We do need to make a charge for this to cover our costs, but we try to keep this as reasonable as possible.
We can offer training courses designed to develop the capacity of the voluntary advice sector, to identify and handle low-level tax queries. This should enable individual advisors to resolve fairly straightforward tax issues among older people, on low incomes at first point of contact.
These courses have proved popular with local branches of Citizens Advice, AgeUK, and Age Concern, but they are available to any voluntary or public sector agency.
Many of our volunteers are happy to give short talks on tax issues to local organisations working with, or comprising of older people. For non-commercial organisations we are usually happy to deliver these for expenses only, although a donation to support our work is always welcome.
With the advent of new flexible pension arrangements, we also now offer a course designed to help advisers better understand the tax treatment of the options available to older clients with defined pension pots, and looking to take advantage of the new regime.
If you are interested in any of the above please contact Maxine Offord in the first instance.
