HMRC prevents one million visits to scam websites
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has averted over a million visits to deceptive websites, including those which promote misleading and costly helpline numbers, it announced today.

HMRC and RAD promise to improve access for deaf people
Following a successful pilot, HMRC and Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD) have signed an agreement to continue working together for the next three years, in an initiative aimed at making HMRC’s services more accessible to deaf people.

Beware sophisticated phishing scams
The LITRG have recently been made aware of a new email phishing scam that appears to come from HMRC. Whatever you do, do not open the attachment!

Personal Tax Account: new P800 repayment service 
Some of us may see a slight change to the end of year reconciliation letter (P800). HMRC will also start to partially obscure National Insurance numbers to help protect against identify theft.
